i am so, so nervous. so very nervous.

i'm realizing that there is not really much else i can do in order to make sure the election goes the way i believe would benefit us all.

anyone who is still an "undecided" voter at this point really probably isn't going to vote or will make their decision in a split second behind the voting curtain. there's no more time for visibility except for outside the polls. phonebanking and canvassing are pointless, in my opinion, after now. my family, friends and neighbours have all assured me they're going to vote.

there are so many people that have worked so hard for the same goal. they want hope, they want change ... they want something different than the absolute bullshit we've been forcefed and expected to swallow for eight years.

i am sick of the lies. i am sick of the corruption. i am sick of being surveilled like a criminal. i am sick of worrying about my rights as a woman. i am sick of watching the lower and middle classes be shat on. i am sick of corporate fat cats being paid off with my money so they can go wallow in more cash than they deserve. i am sick of being denied health care. i am sick of my friends going overseas to fight for the country unprepared, only to come home when they're hurt to get denied quality health care. i am sick of us having to battle off the world's growing hatred because one idiotic man decided to go on a crusade. i am so, so sick of it, and i know i am not the only one. a lot of us have worked so hard because we are sick of the same thing.

so tomorrow, i will sit outside the fire station with plenty of signs, my dog (maybe), my friends, and hope.

this is the day that i look forward to every two years - usually more presidential elections than just congressional elections - but this year it feels like a more crucial election than any i've worked. in 2000 working for gore/lieberman, i was let down. working for shaheen in 2002, she lost in a landslide. 2004 with kerry/edwards ... awful. 2006, things started to go right. 2008 ... i can only hope that it continues in the positive, progressive direction it's been taking.

if that's not the case ... i don't know what i'm going to do. i don't want to think about that just yet.
