moving is inanely complicated.



i mean, don't get me wrong, the actual act of moving isn't complicated. it's the who and what and when and how and money and all the rest of it. if i was moving down the street i guess it wouldn't be that big of a deal but interstate moving is always that much more complicated. at least i live in new england; i suppose interstate moving from say, texas to colorado or something might be significantly more expensive on the gas budget.

i'm a procrastinator by nature; i always tend to wait until the last minute to get ready to leave. sure enough, i haven't packed a single thing - although i do have some boxes in the guest room just kind of sitting there. i've got a jampacked social and work schedule right up until the day before i leave. this probably means that i won't get any packing done until ... the day before i leave. i'm awesome.

in other news, i believe annette olson of nightwish has one of the best voices ever.



i never was really all into that much metal before this past year. it helps that a few of my close friends and the man i date listen to a copious amount of it, and of course it was a matter of time before i was drawn in. however, i don't make it a point to listen to black metal or thrash or anything like that often, but i have found some nice in-betweens, one being nightwish. they're kind of like evanescence, except with balls (or what they SHOULD sound like).



the original singer of nightwish is tarja turunen - she's an opera singer that i now believe performs with the finnish philarmonic ... she was with the band for i believe close to a decade, and they had a significantly harder sound. from what i've read, there was a pretty big scuffle when tarja decided to kind of embark on her own solo career, and pretty much just up and cut herself from the band. so they took on annette, but a lot of fans now say nightwish is much more pop-sounding and not nearly as good as they used to be. i don't know, i like both. here's a single with tarja. you decide.



i have to admit, the music video is full of lulz. very metal. either way, it's always neat to kind of foray into another genre of music you never thought you'd like. i suppose next is bluegrass - a friend of mine at work keeps trying to get me into it, but i can't say i'm quite as for it as metal ...
