i am having hair issues.

you know how you go to get a haircut, and the second and third days are usually the hardest to figure out what to do with it because you really can't replicate how the hairstylist had it?
that's me today and yesterday.

i'm generally bad with hair anyway, so i really can't say that i had much of a shot of looking awesome in the first place. but i figured i'd give it a try. i was growing my hair out for locks of love, but it's just been so hot lately ... not to mention that since my hair is rather thin and brittle, every time i'd put it up in a ponytail, clumps would come out in my hand. generally not a good thing. so i got really sick of it and went to supercuts the other day on a whim after work, and told her to cut it shoulder length and to give me small layers. uh, not exactly what i got ...

i told her to cut it to shoulder length and put in a couple layers. i think she took that as "cut off as much as you possibly can and chop it all up in the back while leaving a wee bit left touching the shoulders so you're not exactly cutting it too short." oy vey. i wasn't exactly sure what to do with it- i know the minute i left the salon i shook it all out and messed with it because how she had it, i looked straight out of 1976.

so this is me today, after two days of kind of wrangling with it. (pardon the silly looking picture, i just snapped it now.) it's a little messier today but at least it's not AS bad as it was. i guess i'm just not used to having short hair - the lady cut a good four, five inches off my head! it's been at least ... oh man, maybe january or february that i had somewhat shorter hair? it's kind of nice, though. doesn't get in your face all the time ... and not nearly as hot!

all this is kind of a step in a nice direction i've been taking lately - taking better care of myself and doing what i want to do with myself. not denying myself any longer because i don't think i'm worth it. that's just silly. next step: to finally get one of those tattoos i've wanted forever and a day ... and a freaking massage ...

argh. first of all, the top picture looked better. hot, even. hopefully your significant other, if such a person exists, isnt reading this.
its not that your changes looked bad, but the first one was downright trendy. plus im not used to seeing you with real makeup. plus youve clearly lost weight.

second, do not get a stupid ass tattoo. unless it's "paul rehm was here" tattooed on your cooch, it's not going to be something you'll be proud of 10 years from now...

your candor is second to none, mr. rehm. i love it. it's not that i changed it too too much ... i don't even know if i could get it back to the way it was! maybe it's the humidity, or something - but i can't seem to keep my hair straight now. you should see it today ... all over the place ... ugh.

it's funny because i wear makeup every day but it's not completely overwhelming, or at least i don't aim it to be. this confirms that. ;)

and i am going to get a tattoo! i've been thinking it over for a while ... we're talking years ... your idea wasn't one i had considered, however ... i'll add it to the list. :P
