ah, an uneventful saturday night. nothing wrong with that, i suppose. although i do have a ridiculous headache.

it started earlier tonight after i went to get vietnamese ... and five hours, two tylenol (extra strength!), caffeine, laying on the bed with the lights out, not looking at my computer and copious whining later it's still around. bloody hell.

the fact that it's my birthday tomorrow makes me even more frustrated, because i hope this thing's not sticking around in the morning! not like i'm doing much until the afternoon - just working - but still, it's not easy to be nice to people consistently while running around like a chicken with your head cut off if you have a migraine.

thankfully it's starting to let up a bit now. i'm sure it'll be a good day ... my mother just called from the military base she's working on to sing to me. heh. any day that starts with that can't be that bad.
i guess i have sort of a stigma about birthdays ... one recent birthday of mine (i think three or four years ago, can't remember now which one it was) i was on the radio in the wee hours of my birthday. i was totally excited about it and brought it up a few times on the air, and thanked everyone for listening and hanging out with me. i was doing something i loved to do (still do, actually) and i was having a blast. during my aircheck a few weeks later, i was pretty much told that my birthday didn't mean anything, no one really cared, and that i shouldn't advertise it.

so i don't anymore.
well, i guess this is in a way. but i don't make a big deal out of it any longer. all that kind of stuck in my head. not that i don't have a good time on my birthday, but i just ... i don't go out of my way to do so. if it happens, that's great. i love hearing from friends and family, and spending time with who i can, but otherwise, whatever happens happens.

on a completely unrelated note, i went to a kohl's for the first time today. can we say overpriced?! it just reminded me of a jcpenney, or almost a wannabe macy's, but way more expensive than jcpenney and way fewer choices than a macy's.
