so i decided to do what i generally do when i have things on my mind and a little gas in the car - drive.

granted, if you're not from connecticut, this means nothing to you ... but i pretty much drove in an entire circle around my city just to cool down.

it took about twenty minutes after i got on the highway, but ... it was worth it. (and no, that's not my address on there, so don't even think about paying me a visit.)
one thing i am sure i'll miss about connecticut is driving on the highway late at night when there's no traffic. well, i take that back. sometimes dealing with truckers is pretty difficult - they tend to get a little crazier in their driving the later it gets. i suppose what i mean is having the ability to just drive, go a relatively fast rate of speed, and because central connecticut is so covered in highways and byways of all kinds, not have to worry about how far you go because there's always another way back to where you came so you don't have to turn around!
i was just able to drive and think. that, and sing rather loudly to songs in the car with the windows down. i didn't have to stop, slow down, merge, nothing. just drove. i guess sitting at home is nice from time to time, and going to friends' and working and all that ... but sometimes you need time to yourself in a place you're not usually in. if the shoreline weren't an hour away, i would have just gone there. but i suppose this was a good idea.
when gas gets up to five, six dollars a gallon ... maybe i'll be reconsidering this. but for now, it works.
